Rachel is a bookbinder, designer and mixed media artist based out of her home studio in Long Beach, CA. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Studio Art from California State University, and has been working in the arts as an artist, workshop facilitator and assistant to other artists for eight years.

 

Using a broad array of media, including paper, wood, metal and ceramic, Rachel explores and challenges the interior of self, the crux and trajectory of relationships, and the emotions behind the ideal of "home" from both sociological and psychological viewpoints.

She is most at home playing armchair detective, amature psychoanalyst and Devil’s advocate. Her friends and peers have often commented on her ability to make works simultaneously personal and universal.
